Regulamin: Scan orders

  1. The “Scans” e-service involves the free scanning and provision of materials from the collections of the Helena Radlińska Pedagogical Library in Siedlce and its branches.
  2. The service is intended for users who have a library card and are registered for the library’s e-services*.
  3. To use this service, log in to E-Services on the library’s website and fill out the electronic form.
  4. Before submitting a request, users are required to review the instructions for logging in to E-Services and requesting scans, available on the library’s website (E-Services – Scans).
  5. Requests may include journal articles and book excerpts. For book excerpts, the maximum number of pages from a single item per reader is 30, provided that the requested excerpt does not exceed 25 percent of the work’s total volume and does not constitute the entire publication. In such cases, the range of pages is determined by the librarian.
  6. Scanned materials may be used exclusively for permitted personal, educational, and scholarly purposes.
  7. A user may request a maximum of three items on a single form.
  8. Requests are processed within 72 hours, excluding statutory holidays.
  9. Collections published before 1945 and publications containing an explicit restriction prohibiting the copying of all or part of the work are excluded from this service.
  10. The librarian has the right to refuse to provide a service if:
    • the physical condition of the document does not allow for the service to be provided,
    • providing the service would violate applicable laws, in particular the Act of February 4, 1994, on Copyright and Related Rights,
    • providing the service exceeds the library’s technical capabilities.
  11. When requesting a scan of a journal article, please provide: the article title, journal title, year of publication, issue number, and page range.
  12. When requesting a scan of a book excerpt, please provide the book title and its call number from the library’s electronic catalog. The item must have an “available” status.
  13. Requests for books should be directed to the branch where the item is available (Siedlce, Garwolin, Łosice, Mińsk Mazowiecki, Sokołów Podlaski, Węgrów) by logging into the e-services on the corresponding website.
  14. Scans of materials are sent to the e-services account of the person placing the request.
  15. The library assumes no responsibility for copyright infringements committed by the person placing the order.
  16. Placing an order constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
*When registering for e-services, do not use capital letters in your username.
