Regulamin: Internship enrollment
The library hosting the intern(s) receives a general and detailed internship program and implements it to the extent permitted by its organizational capabilities and the obligations specified in the signed agreement. The host institution designates a person responsible for the course of the internship—the internship supervisor at the internship site. Internships may be subject to observation by the university internship supervisor.
The progress of the student internship is documented on an ongoing basis by the student in the “Internship Log” and must be confirmed by the internship supervisor. The completed “Internship Log,” together with a written evaluation prepared upon completion of the internship and its grade, serves as the basis for completing the internship and entering the grade into the USOS system.
The purpose of the internship is:
- to familiarize students with the full scope of operations at a selected institution through their active participation in organizational, technical,
- educational, and cultural activities;
- to deepen and refine previously acquired professional skills and competencies;
- to foster independence in carrying out assigned tasks and a sense of responsibility for their completion;
- to apply theoretical knowledge in practice, particularly regarding the use of new technologies and the automation of library processes;
- to foster an attitude of openness toward implementing new information services and modernizing work practices;
- developing an awareness of the necessity of possessing high professional and ethical qualifications in the librarian profession;
- developing students’ competencies, particularly in the areas of communication, information technology skills, professional user service, organization of
- individual and team work, collaboration with users, and creativity and innovation in action, as well as supporting the development of users’ competencies;
- demonstrating the purpose and significance of the assigned tasks and reinforcing the conviction that choosing this profession was the right decision.
